Forlagets omtale:

This book is a collection of British primary texts from the 18th century until the present time. Its main aim is to present undergraduates with extracts from a wide variety of texts in a cultural context. The authors have, for teaching purposes, divided the anthology into four parts: LES MER Revolutionaries and Romantics (1740-1837) Victorian Britain (1837-1901) Britain Before 1945 (1901-1945) Britain After 1945 (1945- ) To illustrate the diversity of cultural expression in Britain the book is organised into six main themes: Work, Class, Women, Democracy, Race, and Identity. It can thus be read and used thematically or chronologically. The innovative combination of text and historical context makes Texts in Time ideal for introducing students to four periods of British culture. Ulla Rahbek has published several articles on black British culture, Australian literature and postcolonial issues. Jan Erik Mustad has long and varied experience from higher education in Norway; he is a frequently used commentator on British political and social issues and is co-author of Contemporary British Society. Annabelle Despard is Associate Professor at Agder University College, and has published four books of poetry.
